Within the framework of the IDD insurance directive, VAB considers all customers to be non-professional (or retail) customers. As such they will be guaranteed the most comprehensive information.
VAB insurance products are underwritten by KBC Insurance

Licensed for all insurance branches under code 0014 (Royal Decree of 4 July, 1979, Belgian Official Gazette of 14 July, 1979) by the National Bank of Belgium, Boulevard de Berlaimont 14, 1000 Brussels, Belgium.
VAB assistance products, such as breakdown assistance for cars, motorbikes and bikes, are guaranteed by VAB ltd.
Annual contracts and tacit renewal
VAB insurance products are property damage insurances, with a 12-month term for annual policies, and a term equal to the duration of the trip for temporary travel assistance policies. Annual policies are tacitly renewed. Please consult our website for a quote or contact the VAB customer service on 03 253 61 30.
VAB products are governed by Belgian law.
The rates stated are valid for new contracts concluded from 01/05/2021.
Complaints Service & Insurance Ombudsman
In case of a complaint, please contact the VAB complaints service (email@example.com or 03 253 61 40). If no agreement can be reached, please contact KBC Complaint Management, Brusselsesteenweg 100, 3000 Leuven, firstname.lastname@example.org, tel. 0800 620 81 ( (free of charge).
If no satisfactory solution can be found, please contact the Insurance Ombudsman at De Meeûssquare 35, 1000 Brussels, email@example.com. However, you always retain the right to take legal action before a Belgian court. .
In the event of persons domiciled at the same address as the insured but not mentioned in the policy as being entitled to assistance, VAB has the right to adjust the premium after having provided assistance. In this case, we speak of non-malicious withholding of information.
In the event of persons not domiciled at the same address as the insured and not insured by VAB through another policy, VAB reserves the right to refuse assistance.
